Throughout 2026, global aluminum prices have surged to four-year highs, with LME aluminum breaking past $3,600 per tonne at its peak. Disrupted Middle East smelters, China’s production ceiling, and a widening supply gap have turned recycled aluminum from scrap into fiercely contested “green gold.” At the same time, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) took full effect on 12 August 2026, making recyclability a hard requirement for packaging entering the European market. Aluminum-plastic composites — pharmaceutical blister packs, aluminum-plastic panels (ACP), laminated film, food packaging, and toothpaste tubes — have shifted from “hard to process” to “must be processed.”

Why Aluminum-Plastic Composites Are the Biggest Recycling Headache
Aluminum and plastic are bonded together through lamination. They can neither be smelted directly (plastic burns and releases toxic fumes) nor recycled as plastic (aluminum foil jams the equipment). Traditional incineration, washing, or chemical soaking is costly, polluting, and oxidizes the aluminum. As a result, vast volumes of aluminum-plastic waste have long been landfilled or downcycled — a sleeping “urban mine.”
Dry Physical Separation Solves the Problem in One Machine
The aluminum-plastic separator uses a dry physical process of crushing plus high-voltage electrostatic separation. Exploiting the fundamental difference in electrical conductivity between aluminum and plastic, it precisely splits tightly bonded composites into high-purity aluminum granules and plastic pellets — with no water and no chemicals. Metal recovery reaches over 98%, and aluminum granule purity exceeds 99%, directly sellable to smelters and plastic processors.
Three-Stage Dust Removal: Profit and Compliance Together
A three-stage dust collection system (cyclone + bag filter + air purification) keeps the working environment clean and pollution-free, eliminating black smoke and wastewater entirely. Compared with primary aluminum production, recycled aluminum saves roughly 95% of energy — and under the double pull of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and downstream “low-carbon premiums,” one separator does more than meet compliance: it lifts the value of once-landfilled waste by up to 40%.
With aluminum prices at record highs and recycling policies tightening, whoever can efficiently split the “hardest-to-recycle composites” — blister packs, ACP, and toothpaste tubes — holds the most valuable link in the packaging circular-economy chain.
