According to the International Energy Agency, China’s photovoltaic retirement capacity is projected to reach 1.5 million tons by 2030 and 7 million tons by 2040. In this era of resource scarcity and increasing environmental pollution, discarded photovoltaic panels, if not recycled, will cause serious pollution to soil and water sources. Proper disposal of used photovoltaic panels is crucial for environmental protection and sustainable development.
Photovoltaic panels are primarily composed of glass, silicone sheets, aluminum frames, and batteries, all of which can be reused. Sorting and disassembling discarded photovoltaic panels will bring tremendous value to our society and economy. We should actively promote the recycling and reuse of used photovoltaic panels to achieve resource recycling and reduce over-exploitation of natural resources.
By recycling and reusing used photovoltaic panel processing technologies, we can reuse resources, reduce energy consumption, and reduce environmental pollution. This not only transforms waste into a resource, but also achieves both environmental and economic benefits. We should strengthen research and promotion of photovoltaic panel recycling, increase technological innovation, and strengthen policy support to promote the sustainable development of the photovoltaic panel industry, achieve renewable energy utilization, and sustainably protect the environment.
